Journeyman Electrician

Journeyman Electrician — Excel Electric

Excel Electric has been serving Northern Colorado since 1969 — over 55 years as a licensed electrical contractor on the Front Range. We handle residential custom home builds, commercial construction, and a rapidly growing service division. We're not a revolving door. Many on our team has been here 20+ years and we're building the next generation of that crew right now.

We're expanding fast — scaling our service department, adding crews to custom home builds, and creating real leadership opportunity for the right people. If you want to grow into a foreman or lead tech role, this is the place to do it.We're hiring Journeyman Electricians for two tracks — pick your lane or work both:

SERVICE DIVISION (Scaling Now)

  • Residential and light commercial service calls

  • Troubleshooting, panel work, upgrades, EV charger installs

  • Running your own van and managing your own schedule

  • Take payments with software

CONSTRUCTION DIVISION (Custom Homes & Commercial)

  • Rough-ins, trim, and device installation on high-end custom homes

  • Commercial construction — core and shell, finish work, lighting

  • Reading and working from blueprints and electrical plans

  • Leading small crews and working alongside apprentices

  • Coordinating with GCs and passing inspections independently


What We are looking for

  • Active Colorado Journeyman Electrician license (or reciprocal state license)

  • 3+ years field experience in residential, commercial, or service work

  • Can run a job or service call without hand-holding

  • Works clean, passes inspection, takes pride in the craft

  • Shows up on time, communicates, and acts like a professional

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Experience training or working alongside apprentices a plus C


    Compensation

  • $37–$40 per hour depending on experience

  • Medical and dental insurance

  • Pay increases every 1,000 hours for apprentices working toward journeyman
